Hi, I’m Leo, and welcome to Legend Music.
I teach guitar lessons in St Neots from Peppercorns Academy, with a focus on rock, metal and beginner-friendly guitar tuition. My lessons are for young players, adult beginners and returning guitarists who want to build confidence, learn proper technique and actually enjoy the process of getting better.
I started teaching guitar properly because I’d already spent a lot of time helping friends improve on different instruments, especially guitar and drums. Seeing someone make progress is a brilliant feeling. You watch something click, you see their confidence change, and suddenly they’re playing something they couldn’t do before.
That’s a big part of why I teach. I enjoy helping people get better. Music is more fun when it’s shared.
How I Got Into Guitar
Music has always been around me. My family has always had music playing, from pop and hip hop to drum and bass, classical, rock and metal. But guitar really came alive for me when I used to go to my Nana and Grandad’s and hear my granddad play.
That was the moment where it felt different. It wasn’t just music in the background anymore. It was something I wanted to understand. I wanted to know how to make that sound myself.
After my granddad died, I inherited some of his guitars, including a Gibson Les Paul. That guitar became a huge part of my story. From there, I started learning properly, experimenting with pedals, working on technique and finding the sounds I liked.
The more I played, the more I wanted to play.
Guitar Lessons at Peppercorns Academy
I’m based at Peppercorns Academy in St Neots, which has been a big part of my music journey. I’ve been involved there for around three years through my own lessons, work experience, one-to-one tutoring and group sessions.
It’s a proper music environment. There are guitars, drums, teaching rooms, creative people and a real community around music. For beginners, that can be exciting. You’re not just sitting in a random room trying to learn chords. You’re stepping into a place where music is already happening.
Peppercorns is also a relaxed, inclusive place to learn. Parents can stay during lessons for younger students, or drop off if that works better. There is parking outside and space to wait inside.
Who My Guitar Lessons Are For
I teach complete beginners, young players, adult beginners and guitarists who already play but want to improve.
A lot of people are in that in-between stage where they like the idea of guitar, maybe they have one at home, maybe they pick it up now and again, but they don’t know what to do next. That’s where lessons really help.
You don’t need to know loads before you start. You don’t need to be confident. You don’t even need your own guitar straight away, as students can use one at Peppercorns if needed.
The main thing is that you want to give it a go.
What My Lessons Are Like
My guitar lessons are practical, song-based and built around the student.
I’ll always ask what kind of music you like and what songs you want to learn. From there, we can build the skills you need: riffs, chords, power chords, solos, timing, tabs, chord charts, scales, improvisation and technique.
I mainly teach electric guitar, especially rock and metal, but I can also help with acoustic guitar.
My teaching style is calm, patient and encouraging. If someone is nervous, I’ll take things at the right pace. If they’re ready to push forward, I’ll push them. There’s no time limit for getting good, and people learn better when they feel relaxed enough to try.
What I Want Students to Feel
After a first guitar lesson, I want students to leave wanting to pick the guitar up again.
Not because they feel like they have to practise. Because they want to.
That drive to get better is where real progress starts. If a lesson gives someone that spark, that feeling of “I want to do more of this,” then we’re on the right track.
